How do you sling an AR15 AR10 & WHY?

I use this (https://www.skdtac.com/Emdom-E-MM-Gunslinger-Sling-p/e2m.101.htm) along with QD sockets (one up front, one on the same side of the stock as my primary shooting side). It allows me to do rifle/pistol transitions and stow the rifle so I can use both my hands.

I ran my rear point the same way, but I found that putting it on the opposite side kept the sling out of the way better when transitioning from strong side to weak hand side shooting.

2-point, always. With a buckle or something so I can quickly remove it.

I've got the same sling for work and at home from Gear Dynamics with HK hooks. If I had QD points on my rifle I'd swap it out but that's the way she roles.
For years prior I used a CPGear quick adjust sling in the same application at work.

Single/Two point sling that I can transition. Sits in single point configuration attached to the receiver extension plate 90% of the time. Two point is just an option for a more secure sling method if I need to just haul the rifle around or use both hands for something else. Single point is the best way when actually doing firearm manipulation.

2 point in 2 different configurations....either on the stock right side (mount depends on the stock) and left side either the handguard closer to the block or I am trying the left side sling plate and it seems to hang pretty well in my duty gear.

I use the Magpul slings but the Ferro seems pretty solid only I don't like to have to buy things separate.

Single point QR at the end plate. However my sling allows a quick change to two point. In that case QR on the handguard and stock. If carrying the rifle all day or on your back while quading.

Now, if you are actually competing with your rifle, in a NRA type match, you know Iron sights out to 500m and 600m using a standard course of fire say 10 rnds standing in 10 minutes at 200m, then 10 rnds rapid sitting (From standing) in 60 seconds at 200m, then 10 rnds rapid prone, (From standing) in 70 seconds at 300m and finally 10 rnds slow fire, prone in 10 minutes at 500m, you might want to consider a good old leather or synthetic 1907 pattern sling.
Replace the xx's with tt's
