How do you store and O/U

Be sure to de-spring the opening lever and return it to center before storing.

How do you do that?

I am an o/u noobie too so bare with me. When it's dissasembled there will be a pin or lever near the firing pin hole area. You need to use that to ensure the opening lever returns to center if you are storing it dissassembled. It should be very apparent. Otherwise it is pretty hard on the ejectors when you reassemble. I just learned this last week myself.

I try not to store mine in their take down cases for very long. If left for too long, I often find the cloth / felt lining of the case absorbs oil and the metal surfaces contacting the fabric end up developing rust spots. You can always wrap your barrels in plastic and heavily oil them, but I find it a PITA.

I didn't mean it happens to my shotguns, but I've seen some nice guns wrecked because people don't shoot them often enough. My O/U is seldom put down long enough to rust.
