LEVI GARRETT: I believe the BERETTA 92 pistol can have the slide latch manipulated if someone grabs the slide ( a button has to be pushed and a lever rotated, then the slide comes off the frame). It is probably not a big problem , but it must be a perceived problem to some because there is a company selling a latch that prevents it from happening. As for this post I'm not sure if the question is how do you #### a 1911 with one hand( doesn't seem to be much of a question , use your thumb) or how do you rack the slide back if you only have one hand available due to wounding or disability( start with empty gun, push bottom part of slide against table , saddle , heel , or anything hard and manipulate slide lock to lock back slide, insert magazine while holding pistol anyway you can , after inserting mag, holding gun in usual manner hit slide release and shoot if necessary). All this would be done only in an emergency and pointing in a safe direction ie. away from any of your body parts.

I pull the trigger. Mine is cocked and locked, so it just keeps cocking itself
. If its unloaded, I rack the slide, then pull the trigger....life is simple. Why carry a round in and hammer down on a 1911? If you want to ddo that buy a sig or berette or S&W or some other da/sa or dao device.
