how does one compare HK SL8 & AR 15

The brass deflector in that sl8 vid above looks like it's half melted off!

It's Hockey tape to prevent damage to the deflector. I just replace it every few hundred rounds and it stays in mint condition.

Wow thanks for posting the link for me. That read was incredibly informative and now has me leaning a bit towards the SL8 first and AR second as I can shoot it anywhere not just limited to my range.
