Had the CZ-858 "gremlin." The store I bought it from didn't know how to fix it. So I send it back to the supplier, who generiously fixed it for free, replacing the trigger assy. However, it still has the gremlin. Took it out for testing, it definitely fails to fire on occasion. You pull the trigger, but there is no click or bang, and the round has a dimpled primer. You have to manually chamber a new round to fire again. Otherwise, everything is accurate and smooth.
Looking at it, it was suggested to me that maybe a part of the bolt / bolt-carrier assembly (the weird hexagonal thing on the bottom that 'stays back' when you are reassembling until you pull the trigger, it is the part with an opening that you insert the bottom spring into when replacing the bolt cover) needed to be filed down and smoothed out a little. This could be it and I will try in fact replacing that part.
But I'm told that the striker or sear is often the problem. Which parts are those? I don't want to have to send it back again, it is a PITA. The guy at the range has 3 and they never malfunction and he has shot 6,000 rounds out of one. Mine hiccuped when both I tried it and when he tried it with his own magazines and ammo.
