Sorry MBP, for me, that is one ugly rifle in either configuration.

I have the gray lam stock on my 77mkII and I like it. Also get a lot of smiles and liking remarks when I take it out to the range. As far as stable and weatherproof, it is an epoxy laminated stock. Weather is not likely to have much effect on it and it has the weight to back off some of the 06 recoil. So far still liking the lam but either would work as long as it fitted properly.

I am very partial to laminated stocks and have several, but the full stock compliments the configuration.
How it feels when you hold it is what really matters.

The full stock looks awesome. kinda reminiscent of the old rem Mohawk's .

Too bad it is a short action or you could use Gatehouses stock.

I said it looked hideous but if you after your done you don't like it because of the way it looks give it to me. I'll give it a nice home with friends and feed it lots.

Forestock is too long. Hideous it is, though I like the Hogue stock. They need to make a short forend Hogue then I'd be all over it.

Have you tried shooting it without a stock? Your other options suck!
