How easy would it be to make a G22P usable?

From my understanding the frame is completely functional which means all it would need is a slide a barrel and a firing pin.

Granted all of these things are hard to come by right now I would pick up one of these as a project gun.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Yeah I was thinking of either cerakoting the frame or maybe using RIT dye as I've done with my P320 frame.

Not sure if you guys noticed, the Ellwood ones does not come with any mags. Probably not the best route to go, ppl are selling uppers for like 1k+ on GP, unless if you get lucky and snag a used one for like around 500-700 (I think that would be the reasonable range depending on condition) you're still out 1K at least with an odd color plain jane gen3 with no mags. Add some mags it's guaranteed 1k+ so unless you absolutely have to have one.

I guess the positive would be you could choose parts to build your own, but with a barrel being probably 200, a slide 500 and a upper parts kit being another 150 (all rough guesses) and a few mags and you're around 1400 for a red Glock 17.

Your numbers are on point based on what I'm seeing lately. Yes, this would be a good choice if you're planning on using it for some custom build, like a Ferrari Red Glock or some sort of bling bling style...

If I were to go this route I would pick up a P80 complete upper, about $550 at sask gun works or wait for the PSA uppers from Irunguns for around the dame price. GL9 mags are about $30 each and I would dye the frame with RIT dye, about 10 bucks. Still, you would be into it for just over a G but you would have an Optics ready franken glock.
These are a good option if you already have a spare gen3 upper or a .22 conversion kit. Or if you just wanted to have a Glock lower registered to you that you can slowly build down the road.
