I like 100 yards for load work, then I like to practice at 200. I've not seen animals as close as 100 that I wanted to shoot. love my 204 ruger in CZ varmint at 200. FS

I "snipe" with my 45-70 at 1000 meters.
Mark of a true operator.

I don't hunt yet.:(
Plus my range is 50 meters, so yeah...

i sight all my rifles in to be flat at 200 yards. then practice out to 500 yards more for fun.. dont ever plan on taking a shot like that on an animal that i want..

All of the above. Though all shots of animals 500+ yards I've passed, I'd like to be able to know that I possess the skill to take one, in case the SHTF, I need to feed my loved ones, and those are the only shots I get.

I practice standing up, like hunting. If I lean on something (usually switch it up) I try out to 400m. If I shoot freehand I stop at 300m although it's a stretch. From the bench, I'll rainbow lead at just about anything way out there to see if I can ring it, not something I would do while hunting though.

I sight in my rifle to 200 yards, and usally hunt between 50-250 yards. depends on the animal and what loads i am using. I wouldnt dream of taking an animal at 500yd. firstly because i dont want to risk wounding it. and i also dont want to pack the carcaus that far

I would imagine that in the morning all of those crazy easterners will hit that poll hard on the 50-100 yards telling us that they have the thickest bush in the world :D

I regularly practice out to 300, but I shoot to a quarter mile occasionly to be sure of my drop under different conditions. Much of my practice though is inside 25 yards . . . particularly between now and freeze up.

Yep....90% of shots where I hunt are under 50 yards.....plus I hunt with a .44 Mag....not much point in practicing out past 100.......due to the Brick Like ballistics once it hits 150 yards, LOL

Out to 200 yards, cause thats the farthest I've found a place I can practice at. Yeah us eaterners do have some incredibly thick bush, cedar and alder jungles you'd be lucky to see 10 feet in let alone 10 yards, but then step out of that and you're on a power line or farm field were you can see from one county clear to the next.

100 for load workup, lots of 300 for practice, then 450 for ####s and giggles...Also do standing free-hand from 50 to 100...
