How far do you think BB sized shot will go?

Pretty sure that chart is for lead pellets.
I tried to find steel data and it was very tough. Found a formula that if I remember correctly showed #2 steel capable of going over 220 meters....

Again that’s great that you would be so brave to stand and be pelted on. But if the shot was raining down on a farm or acreage the fact that it doesn’t hurt won’t stop any LEO from charging you with careless use or the equivalent under the provincial wildlife act.

Be safe and keep the local landowners safe too.

I'd need expenses of course; but if you want to travel that wouldn't be much. How about 5 bucks a shot, one flat minimum?

Or; make it a gentleman's wager. Fly down to Saskatoon, and we'll take my truck over to Cabela's and load it up with 3 1/2" 12 gauge steel BBs. We can go out to the farm and I'll sit in a lawn chair sipping whiskey at a lasered quarter mile. I'll bet you a new Harley that you'll quit before I do.;););)

So I'd be charged with being "brave and pelted on", or what, lol.

As with dogleg, I'd want expenses covered too, but I'll stick with a buck a shot and a one flat minimum charge. At 400 meters I wouldn't remotely consider it brave, more like boring. I'd require a book to pass the time while it sprinkled.
 
No I dont want people to switch the conversation from max distance to “oh it won’t hurt so who cares”. Im saying it 400 as well but to be legal i have to add on another 200. Maybe its too complex for you to understand...
 
His question about the distance the shot can travel was expressly for the purpose of keeping himself in compliance with Alberta's rule of keeping a projectile's path 200m from any occupied building. I don't think it's unreasonable that once he knew the shot could go 400m, he broadened the discussion to state one needed to stay 600m away to be legal (which obviously assumes some shots might be fired towards the occupied building). Why give him a hard time?
 
My confidence that steel BBs won’t go 400 meters is high enough that I offered to let him shoot at me with them. If thats giving him a hard time, then I guess he's going have a hard time.
