How far do you travel?

For day hunting dear about 1.5 - 2 hrs. one way depending which way we go. Same goes for migratory game birds.

Deer - 10 minutes North, South, East, or West
Elk - 10 minutes South
Bears - 10 minutes South
Moose - 10 minutes South or West

I have farmland to the North, and hills to the South.

For deer (rifle season), geese, ducks, turkeys, about 1 1/2 hours.
For more geese, ducks, and maybe turkeys?, about 20 mins. down the road.
For deer again (controlled hunt in Dec.) about 40 mins.
For moose, partridge, about 10 1/2 hours.

We drive 8 hours one way on our annual elk/moose hunt.I drive 11 hours each way to hunt deer in Saskatchewan each year and 5-1/2 hours to hunt deer in Alberta.

2000km to moose hunting place. I can still drive the whole in one "sitting". 22-23hrs. I hunt alone, so no turns driving. It was bad when I first came back with empty hands. one day of driving and the whole world on my shoulders..... am I that bad of a hunter ???????????????

6-7 hrs to deer hunting place.

I sit at a motel in both cases, unless a night "in the rough" is order.
I really like a hot shower in the morning / evening. Makes me smell better.

This year I might have to rough it up more though. :(

the guys with 15 minutes to hunting grounds...... count your blessings....

Well seeing gas prices are going to be out of this world I think I'll be driving an hour at most. I plan on hunting with my bow quit abit and don't have to venture far to get permission in good deer country for it.

Cheers!!

It depends on what I amhutning, I can hutn walkign out my front door sometimes.

Part of the fun of hunting for me is going to difeent places and seeing new things. Last year i went to Ontario to hutn with Bigred and Daryl.

I've gone to many corners of BC, but there is still so much more to see and experience in this province, and I have barely touched the surface of it.

SO I will go 5 minutes to 5 hourss to several days to hunt. Depends on what I am hutning, and what I want to experience.:)

Moose - 1-1/2 hours ( Camp A )
Deer - 45 minutes (Camp B ) ( but could shoot them at home - 5 minutes )

Grouse & Woodcock - on average half an hour
Varmints - 5 minute walk to 1 hour drive
Quail & Dove - 4 hour flight + 2 hour drive ( palm trees, amigo ! )
