Unless that bullet strikes something vital,, ie heart, brain , major artety etc,, or ricochets around your body until it strikes something vital, you should have time to get to ER.. And in TO, we have some amazing trauma hospitals,, St Mikes and Sunnybrook,, and good EMS response,,, end result is lots that prob should die, and would elsewhere,dont.

Your liver is vital and a major blood vessel. I'm not calling BS, its just if you poke a hole in your liver you are in big trouble in a hurry (normally). Massive blood loss, massive drop in blood psi...normally, it's a case of "not all the Kings horses, nor all the kings men..."

My brother was in a ski doo accident and ripped his liver in half, got the steering handles in the liver. Took him two hours to get to the hospital he should have been brought too in the first place and while he was in rough shape and almost died, he lived and that was 11 years ago now.

Usually solid organs bleed a fair amount but .45 of an inch hole is not a big hole and in a city where you can get to a major trauma center quick, the chance of survival is better.

Had the round been a quality hollow point he may not have been so lucky.
