How far?

Considering that most of us has to work as slaves for about 50 weeks a year, 12 hours drive is well worth any hunt, as a free man :)

Ya, thats right, I just don't get it

We don't have to drive more than 2 hrs to hunt moose, but we do if we want to draw an adult tag. Very few tags for southern ontario. Believe me, if I could get a tag every year within 2-4 hrs, I'd be all over it.

If I am driving 24-30 hours, it wont be for meat, I can get that around home.

If I drive 24-30 hours it had better look this:

Or this:

Not this:

That last one can be done within an hour of home, minus the orange.

The *moose hunt* thread i posted as about 1.5 hours from my door. About 1 hour from the tag holders door.

I gurantee if he had more time we woudl have taken the bigger one, even travelling back one hour and another hor e next day.:)

Well Davey it's like this, I personally think your just as nuts or more so if you would drive that far for a "trophy". Or maybe, I am past that stage in life where I need to beat my chest & declare how great a hunter I am just because I drove 24hrs & shot a big moose!
I have done many 12hr fall drives for moose & didn't particularily even care if we got any, the yearly comradory with good buds is worth every minute.

My deer camp is 10 mins thru the bush by ATV or 10 mins by truck :)

I guess I am just lucky to be able to hunt lots of different species of animals no more than an hour from my door(not just deer and moose). Not beating my chest, but why drive 30 hours when I can shoot one an hour from my door. Sorry to hear that you guys have to drive that far to enjoy good hunting, glad to hear that you enjoy it though, thats all that counts. I enjoy the comradory with my family and friends as well during hunting season, I just dont have to drive 24-30 hours to enjoy it.

Oh and by the way, if I was going trophy hunting in northern Canada or Alaska, I would fly not drive ;)

1 minute by quad or truck I can hunt:
1)Moose
2) Whitetail
3) Mulee
4) Grouse, Duck, Geese
5) Wolf/Coyotte

ELK an hour drive
