I finally got my bullets in the mail and I'm working on a load right now. I'm starting at 28grains and going to 31grains and I'm going to check them with the chronograph on the weekend. What I need to know is how fast can I push a 350grain bullet out of the DE. It looks like some guys are pushing 325grain bullets to about 1500fps. And 300grain bullets to almost 1700fps. I'm guessing I can push the 350grain bullet anywhere from 1200fps to say 1350fps. Does that sound about right?

A friend with the 10" barrel was pushing 300s a bit over 1750 , I think he could have gone higher too. I will try to get the load from him. I don't see a 6" getting much past 1650. Then again I don't handload this calibre. I imagine 1350 is not unreasonable for 350gr bullets.

If you can get 1350 fps out of a 6" barrel DE please PM me with your load (grains, primer, OAL) as I'd be very interested to try it. I believe I'm getting almost 1400 with the Speer 325 grainers. I have Hornady 350's and Speer 300's but I haven't tried either yet.

I'll be chronographing the loads this Saturday. I've got a CED M2 chronograph and I'll download the results to the computer and post them here. Hopefully, some video too.:D

I posted the results in another thread but I'll put them here too just in case.
I just came back from the range after testing my loads through the chronograph. The results of the tests are below as well as some video. I managed to capture some really nice flames. Some of the stills are posted below too.
I had a few shots that were 3000fps so I removed them from the string. I think the shock wave was moving the chrono and skewing the results.

The first few times I shot it I developed a HUGE flinch. It was hilarious. It was so bad that I would flinch and all I did was just touch the trigger. LOL. I would have to relax and find my center and pretend this is the first time all over again. I'm getting much better though.
