Ive pushed 250gr Woodleighs to 2900 fps with RL25. Recoil was in the old walnut BDL stock. I toned them down to 2750 fps. It's a big case, lots of power for sure.

The 8 mag is a "mans" cartridge for sure! I use 220 sierras over 79.5gr H4831. It's actually not too bad to shoot, I put mine in a mcswirly hunter stock.

Based on data out of my reloading manuals for 150gr, 170gr and 250gr and your posted top end with 250's, I'm guessing between 3500 and 3600 fps with those 160gr TTSX's.

IMO that's the wrong powder to get max velocities out of anything heavier than the 150gr (maybe as high as the 180gr).

I don't have a 325 WSM or even a pipsqueak 8mm Rem Mag. My 8mm ARP is based on the 338 RUM and holds about 10% more powder than the 8mm Rem Mag. For the heavier bullets, it works best with powders in the RL22/H1000 to RL25/Retumbo+ range, pushing 180's at 3450, 200's at 3225 and 220's at 3170 fps (with 104.0 grs of US869). If you get within 50-100 fps of those numbers with an 8mm Rem Mag, you're way over the pressure red line.

have you tried Rl17 in the 8mm Rem Mag with 160gr TTSX? I'll try H4350 too, and likely H4831sc too
