How fast can you unload?

Not sure the utility of it,...but how fast can you unload (fire) 5 shots from your non semi auto rifle...(pump, bolt, lever)

I saw a thread on the good ol Marlin 30/30 and got me heart all a flutter...

I can fire 5 shots out of my old girl 30/30 in under 2 seconds...

Is this practical for hunting? nope, but damn fun and the rifle also serves well for moose elk deer and bears and caribou and whatever else for the most part that I hunt...

So the 30/30 Marlin is fun, classic, cheap to feed, and up to the task for animals...

What's not to like...

I had a good laugh at that made me wonder how many of us have had that heart thumping moment... :D

I shoot all the different actions about the same speed = faster than most...

HAHAHA :)

I have dumped the ten round tube in my 1894 as fast as I can a few times now, gotta love cheap ammo. It depends on the load I'm shooting for sure. 8 gr of unique under a 240gr plated bullet is fun to shoot and it takes under 5 seconds for me to go through all 10 rounds. 24 grains of H110 under the same bullet is another storey, it takes a good 5 seconds for my teeth to stop rattleing.

With my BL-22 lever I could pop off 15 rounds of long in just under 5 seconds. The stroke on that lever was only a few degees and I could cycle it without removing my finger from the trigger guard.

With my Cooey 600 bolt it takes me just under 10 seconds for 14 long. It's a right hand bolt gun and I'm left handed.

I'll try to time myself this Sunday and see exactly how long it takes.

Once, for a demonstration, with a Fig. 11 target at 50 yards, 39 rounds in one minute, 38 hits, with a Lee Enfield. This was timed with a stop watch, and video taped, before about 20 people.

Now, at 70 years old, I could probably get off 25 or so. Might have to try it and see.

Once I was deer hunting and saw a pack of wolves working through the cutb-lock I was beside. I blew on a fawn distress call and two wolves came running to me. I put a shot into the farther one (90 yards) and then dumped the closer one on its nose (40 paces). The far one was up and running for the bush so I shot at him 4 mare times, hitting him a couple of those. He died 50 feet short of escape in the trees.

I was using a Sav. M99 in .300 savage and had 6 shots in all in the gun. In seconds it probably was not all that fast because the later shots were aimed at a running beast.

But it was apparently "fast enough".

So you matched Sgt Instructor Albert Snoxall's record of 38 hits set in 1914? Except he was shooting at 300 yd. Still, quite a feat.
 
I got 5 off from my sks in a second or less. In 5 mins I can damn near cover the shooting line with empties. Took the blueing off the barrel and burned the skin off my fingers

While "completing" a road block checking hunters, a vehicle came to a sudden stop as smoke curled out from the windows. "Sonny Boy" touched one off while trying to unload Dad's rifle, and decommissioned the transmission.

I wonder what was more uncomfortable...the ringing ears or the messed trowsers?!?!?!
