How good is federal brass...

All depends on vintage w/ Federal brass in any caliber.

80's-90's vintage rifle brass will need to be annealed after a few reloads.
80's-90's vintage pistol brass will be running to this day.

Any F.C.-Federal/ATK brass is JUNK prior to shooting it.

IF,you are buying FedCart ammo, look at the back of the box for ATK & then look at the caliber stamping & case head for flatness & NOT being cupped(ATK)

ATK was run out of Lake City Army Ammo Plant.....for a reason!

Well there is no comparison Jim. Especially with the price difference.

HUH ? wha'ts the risk ? I shoot FC brass all the time in my 30-06 - 338 Fed - 308 Win - 223 Rem - - Only Problem i have ever had was with some Nickel plated 338 REM RUM brass - Primer pockets oversize right after the first firing ! RJ

Federal brass goes right into the recycle bin. I have had primers fall out on factory loads.

I had a few rounds from a box of 270 blow primers. One round knocked the extractor out of place and jammed up the gun too. After that I threw all my federal 270 brass out because I didn't keep track of what came out of that box.
