I don't own a Sig and thought it might be interesting to go with the Norinco copy to get my feet wet.

If you own one let me know what your experience has been with this pistol. Thr Good the Bad and the Ugly.

Can you handle a big fat double stack? That's what you are getting. Other than the grip size, I had no issues with the NP22 I purchased. It shot well. Just too big for my small hands.

I shot one yesterday. It had a Hogue grips and it felt in hand no worse that a real 226 I used to own. The accuracy was exceptional. I only shot few rounds one handed from 25 yards and most landed right on the bullseye. As far as long term reliability of this pistol goes, I would not be able to tell from this limited encounter. We also shot a Norinco TT33 clone that day and after 10 rounds the grips fell off.

My NP22 was spectacular!! It was very very accurate and not a bad finish on it either. I too put Hogue grips on it and was like it was made for my hand. I put a spingco frame saver in mine and it cut down on the recoil what little there was and protected the frame. It was only $14 Us from Brownells. Great gun can't go wrong if you can find one.

I've had mine since 2004, bought new from Marstar. The grips suck, so I swapped them for some Hogues. I've since put >10k rounds of factory, commercial reload and home reload though it with no issues. I blew a trigger spring a couple of years ago but swapped it for a spare that came with the gun. I use Norc mags as well as Sig mags, though the Sig mags did require a (very) slight exapansion of the slot to seat properly.

For under $350, it's been a great gun. It got me on the range for a small amount of money and as I've said elsewhere, it'll be mine until I'm in the box and buried.
