So when is a handgun too heavy? It's not like there's any recoil to be absorbing.

55.15 oz

about 3.5 lb

You know how that song doesn't really go, "He ain't heavy, he's my Ruger":

My heaviest handgun was Raging Bull at 53oz kinda handy for a .44mag but was getting a little too much.

IMO 35oz (1KL) is a perfect weight for a handgun (Beretta 92, CZ 75B), under 30oz feels a little light ,over 40oz is getting a little heavy.

Colt Walker (repro) .44 cal. 72 ounces a big horse pistol.it is 16 inches long, lots of fun to shoot but it is too heavy for most practical purposes.

I feel like this thread should be more of a highest weight / calibre thing. I could pull the stock off my ar and call it a handgun...
1337th post is leet

On topic, so far I've got the highest weight for lowest calibre lol. I guess it won't get any lighter as long as the scope is on there.

I think weight should be dependent on caliber, a .380/9mm/.38 should be fairly light, a .40/.45/.357mag should be a bit heavier, and a .44mag or larger caliber should be good and heavy to help with recoil.

Wheres supernova with his .308 handgun

Weigth on handguns have never been an issue I dont think ive come across one that I picked it up and went wow thats heavy.
