My Rem700 in 30-06 weighs in just under 9 lbs with a full magazine and sling and an older Bushnell 3-9x40.
I'm in the process of collecting parts for a new deer rifle that will mimic my target rifles in feel and appearance. 700 short action, McMillan carbon fiber game Hunter stock. 22" carbon fiber sendero contour barrel, Talley lightweights, and a Leopold vx3. Should come in under 7.5lbs. I know it's not the lightest out there but decent for a target style "heavy" barrel rifle.
Without the sling or mag/ammo, my axis weighs around (or just under i think?) 7.5lbs. I need a better scale though, can't get the most precise answer from my luggage scale lol
Edit: with 4rds in the mag and the sling, it comes in it 8lbs 3.5oz.
Kimber montana in 300wsm with a vx3 4.5-14x40 on talleys sitting at 7lbs unloaded, a nice weight for the 300, not too sharp off the bench and nice to carry all day in the hand or on the shoulder/pack.
I've also got a Montana in 338wm that comes in at 6.5lbs, barrel is cut at 20" with irons. It's punchy but a pleasure to carry. Shoots pretty well with the irons and the short barrel too.
Browning A bolt in 7mm with a 3x9 x 50mm scope comes in at 10lbs even. It's getting a tad heavy to slug around nowadays, but it is a very nice rifle to shoot.
