How is everyone's spring bear going?

Time and dates wrong, hopefully see some more tonight.

Was out for a drive a couple of nights ago. Looking for a specific size bear.
Saw 7 in total [One sow with 3 cubs] Others were all pretty small to bother
with. D.

Spent three days in a likely spot where I've been lucky before.

Only saw one very fast streak of a bear. Very little sign compared to previous few years even near thick roadside and powerline clover. Then a road builder told us that a huge party of about 30 hunters and associated trucks and quads from a Vancouver gun club had thoroughly covered the area over the Victoria day long weekend.

Spot & stalked a young boar a couple days ago... passed up three before it... probably should have shot the first one I saw, but it was an hour into my hunt and didn't want it to end that fast... then passed up a 500 pounder because of his location, would have taken three days to get him out of there, but I had the crosshairs on him at 250 yards, my finger was twitching, but the thought of the work made me flip the safety back on. When I spotted this little boar, I thought "perfect"... got into 80 yards, whistled to turn him and put a .35 cal 200 C&C through him and he went straight down without a twitch... I had his tenderloins for supper... delicious.

I slayed a bueaty blackie may 6 in BC which is early. Hes nearly gone via honey garlic pepperoni and various smokies. De effin licious

saw only one but it was really too small. weather is not with us too hot close to +30c and or other rainy day but that is why it is called hunt. only 13 days before the end of the spring season. luckily fall is starting the 1st of august ...

I shot a nice brown one on a spot and stalk backpack hunt by myself. Saw lots of bears this year as I think the population is getting strong around here.

Got a beauty May 17. Fat , fat bear. 5'6' long and 6' across front paws.
So tasty. Best bear meat to date. All the bears this year are looking real healthy. Will get another if opportunity arises.

Good luck.

Very nice... we don't see many colour phase bears in Ontario... not alot of green-up in that cut.

Thanks guys.
The bear season closes May 15 on a few of our mountain zones so not a lot of green around that early. Sometimes there is still snow.

Got one May 11th. Saving my next tag for something 6' plus or until the fall....whichever comes first.
