how is the Glock 17 Gen 4

I heard that the gen 4 Glock 17 had some issues when it first came out. Have the issues been resolved or is it still having problems?

Resolved long ago and I like the feel of my Gen4 over my Gen3's.

Gen 4 fits better smaller hands... Recoil spring was replaced for a softer one. Since then no issues... Runs like a champ

Good. My work is switching from the MP40 to the G17 gen 4 and I was not entirely thrilled after hearing about the issues. Glad they're resolved. Now I'm just not thrilled that I'm going to have to use a 9mm instead of a .40.

Any idea of the average price I could find a gen 4 Glock 17? Going to want one to train with.

Prices may have gone up recently. I bought my last Austrian built one from Prophet River last year for a smoking deal, it was under $600.00 on special.

Paying full retail is silly, specially now with these ridiculous prices.
Glock have been 800 bucks at retailers for a long time now, the weak dollar has nothing to do with it. It is just greedy retailers.
Wait for a good deal on cgn, I will never pay more 650/675 for a mint unfired g17.

What's wrong with the sights. My duty carry will likely have stock sights so I'll need to keep them stock to train with.

Plastic and funny sight picture ( u shaped white outline ) you get used to it, check your duty gun though as there are different configurations at departments.
