How long before sks disappear from market?

There should be another similar value surplus rifle that surfaces and replaces the Self loading Simonov Karbine by then...

Dunno, all the modern/semi modern (aka FN, M14, G3 etc.) are all prohibs. Virtually all issued rifles now are full autos, and since converted autos are illegal once the supply of old bolt-actions and early semi-autos run out that's it.

They made quite a few so probably they will be around for a loooong time! But soon us youngens will be telling our kids "Man I remember walking in to gun shops and seeing the walls lined with SKSs" Just like my dad tells me about Lee-Enfields and K98s.

I know demand and supply curve that is on the market right now. I want to know what people think. I want to read this thread in 3 years and see if I was right.
I sell the guns so other 450 dealers in Canada. Marketing or not I just want to know

This is a fun game, but what is your estimate? You want to check in 3 years if you were right but you don't give any numbers.

How long do you think before sks rifles disappear from market 3 year? 5 year or 10 years.
And what will be the price of them then?

I predict: they will never disappear from the market. The availability will stay the same.

In 10 years they will cost the same or less adjusting for inflation.

I can only shoot one at a time and the one I bought 10 years ago is still like new, so who cares if the price goes up? I have 5,000 rounds in storage and I shoot maybe 300 a year so I'm good until 2040 AD when I will be 112 years old (I should be so lucky).

Two years ago I paid $169 for my first SKS the next year I paid $159 for my second but this was an xmas door crasher. My most recent last bought last month was my first laminate for $200

All three rifles are in very good condition though all are refurbs

The prices will go up eventually yes, everything does and eventually the supply will dwindle but I don't see it happening for quit sometimes... I remember over a year ago you warned prices were going to go up in another thread and it never happened BTW

I bought mine in 1992 for $99.

It's a Chinese SKS and it has been stupidly reliable despite extremely rare cleanings and 1.5 crates of Norinco silver box.

You got my attention CanAm. Can't wait to see what u got. Bring on the Chinese SKS n cheap ammo for a good combo price and I'll buy up a bunch. Love shooting the crap out of mine for cheap. Super reliable and accurate enough for what I'm shooting to be happy with it.

Just curious what was the price of it then?

I have a consumer chinese sks from the early eighties, it was 99 bucks. Its had several dozens of cases of rounds through it, never missed a beat, and shoots every bit as good as it did the day I bought it.
