That's assuming they will even care about a backlash. If they switch Canada to a proportional representation electoral system then the socialists are guaranteed a hold on power for a very long time no matter what they do.
 
Why you people think SKS are gonna be prohibited or no more imported here? It's the only weapon as the AK-47 to be made without to know there number in the world.
 
Won't be banned, and there are many tens of thousands of them in warehouses in Ukraine, as it's not a current combat system they will still be sold, the question will rather be who they are sold to.

The vast majority of the old system will be gone soon, which is good for most people involved :)
 
Canada just opened a free trade agreement with Ukraine this week. Maybe that's a step towards easier firearm exporting in the future?
 
Free trade agreement does not apply on Soviet made product. Factory that made them is in Russia. Putting them as Russian made product.

Good you actually follow the news. Poland sold those to Germany and now it is offered to dealers at 185 USD each. Nobody in Canada has bought them yet :)

They are in the warehouses, so they don't go anywhere for a year or two,, until putine is out of power, then the floodgates will open again till they are all gone or some other surplus rifle takes our fancy, or x39 gets to be as expensive as .308 or the like!
Ukraine can do like Russia and stamp re manufactured in Ukraine then sell to us!!

Anyway I don't see anything available for some time 2-3-4 may be be 5 from Ukraine as long as USA selling weapons to Ukraine they can not export even a screw. They can and probably will destroy all Russian made weapons so that they can sell USA made ones

And, no, I'd never pay more than $200 +/- $50 for one. Same as I wouldn't pay anything near $200 for any generic Russian surplus 91/30, no matter what sort of receiver it has.

A patient scrounger can buy a Finn 91 for less than these "ex dragoons" and they have a hell of a lot more history and historical authenticity to them.

So, you're trying to say, if semis become prohibs, all gun owners will consciously turn themselves into criminals and continue illegally keep those SKSs and things at home just because the government does not have any records? Fawk that! I have family and lots of things to enjoy in this life aside of staring at that useless prohib SKS in the middle of the night with windows closed and scaring of door knocks. And then when your house is on fire, flooded, invaded and any other emergency happens, so police and other officials will enter your property in your absence, then you really have something to worry about.

I believe most of gun owners will be LEGALLY fighting and protesting as much as they can. I will be in too. If we still loose, then so be it. I will not exchange my lifestyle for fetishing that damn SKS. All these childish "from my cold hands", "nobody will comply", "come and get it", "will never work" is just a drivel till you kindly hand out your newly prohib to police before the due date. But yes, smaller number of owners will rather decide to be criminals, as HootGuy here is calling for. And so some of those rifles will get into black market and in hands of real criminals.

That is because Fail to register non-restricted device is less criminal than possession of prohibited device and legal consequences are different here. The latter one will increase those 25% to much bigger number.
