After you sent in the actual application (with the references and all)... roughly how long did it take for the PAL to arrive to your mailbox?

Took me about ... one hundred and twenty months.

ok, not really - i sent in my information . . . probably end of November. I didn't get anything back until the end of February?

those dates are pretty estimated, but regardless it took a long time. I took my restricted and my non-restricted at the same time. I imagine they do a more indepth analysis if you apply for your restricted license as well.

This was in BC - i hear it depends on where you are. BC has a lot of back up at the provincial level - so even after they were done with it on the east coast it was in the office over here for a long time.

you can call the number and check on your status after the first 32/ 42 whatever number of days they say.

Im in Toronto, and I applied for unrestricted and restricted, and its been about 6 or 7 weeks now. What number can I call to ask?

Here's a question:

When you are finished the course do you get the paperwork right there and then or do they have to mark it and mail it to you? I am taking my restricted/non-restricted on the 27th.

I don't know if it is the same everywhere but mine was marked and in my hand before I left the building. They even provided an envelope to mail it all in with, so you could do that on the way home!

I am hoping that is the case. My forms are all ready to go...just need the proof I passed the courses.

They mail the results to the ministry themselves. You get the stamped papers in 2-3 weeks in the mail. Fill out the application + put them into the same envelope, and mail them back.

Efficiency!

I am wondering if you can send the application in anyway and just not check the "Proof Attached" box since they are giving you the option. If they already have the results and they can cross reference. This should speed up the process. I am going to check with the instructor and find out what they do in my particular case.
