how long does a brick last you guys?

how can you shoot 500 rounds in 30 minutes - I call it BS. Even 1.5 hours is a bit of a stretch. Its one shot every 12 seconds or so. Bee Esss.

I am normally through a brick in 2 outings to outdoor pistol range. Rifle target shooting I may go through 100 - 150 rounds per session, beyond that it may be counterproductive.

semi auto fun

if just shooting at the gongs with a semi auto, less than an hour to consume a brick. If shooting at the bench, one shot every thirty seconds or so and a brick per range visit. Funny thing with rimfire is you have to blast it before the expiry date.......oh wait thats my expiry date on the plastic card that I use for most of my ammo purchases.

It is not unusual for me to shoot my way through ½ a brick at the range on a good day, but That doesn't count if I bring one of the 3 semis I own, since they tend to eat up ammo at a greater rate than bolt guns do. Regards, Eagleye.

your kidding right? 500 rounds with a asemi auto with 2 25 round clips does not last long at all...

and i call cookie for you, good for you for using your ammo in a constructive manner. i prefer to use my 22's for uselss burst of destructive plinking fun.

but thanks for calling me out. you got me buddy. i really lied to make myself look good. i was merely making apoint that when i go out with my semi auto 22's/ it does not last long.:slap:

Do you know what clip loaders are? Do you know what tube magazines are? Do you know what speed loaders for tube magazines are? I guess not.

I have no idea what a "clip loader" is...

I do have a magazine loader for my 10.22, and can go through a brick of ammo in about 2 hours easily if I'm just plnking and having fun. Maybe 3-4 hours if I'm actually aiming at something.. LOL

Summer, usually a day, winter maybe a couple range trips. Depends on what I am shooting and how much screwing around I want to do.

With the semi-auto Krinker plinker, you can unload a 50rnd mag in less than a minute. It takes about 2-3 minutes to reload. So lets say we take our time - 50 rnds every 10 minutes - a 500rnd brick is gone in less than an hour. Sometimes you get a jam or mis-fire or the mag loader gets messed up. Give me an assistant to reload mags and I could chew threw 500 rnds in 10-20 minutes. However, at that point, it gets to be a bit of a waste.

About 3 range visits for me.

The Federal bulk seems OK, though the last brick had about a dozen FTFs. Winchester Wildcat seems slightly more reliable. I'm trying American Eagle this month.

Is this the part where earth shaking revelations are made between the terms "detachable box magazine" and "clip"? :p First off, the term is in common useage. Secondly, at least one manufacturer chose to call his contraption a "cliploader".

Common usage doesn't make it correct. And I'd say it's only commonly used among people who just don't know any better. Calling something by anything other than its actual name doesn't make any sense, especially when you know its actual name. A clip is not a magazine, whether you like it or not. Communicating accurately is important.

When my wife comes out to gopher night at the range, we will go through a brick and a half in about two hours. If I go out to shoot actual gophers or to the range by myself it usually takes a whole day.
But I seldom bring any .22 shells home with me.:)
