I ordered a Glock 17 8 days ago from CanadaAmmo.

How long do you think I'll be waiting considering my being in ON and the dealer being in BC?

Thanks.

Your club will apply for your long term ATT once the gun has been transfered to you it took about 2 weeks for my LTATT to show up in the mail

Buying from a dealer even in Ontario can be as little a 3 days or as much as a few weeks. Don't be afraid to phone and ask about the status of your application after about a week (don't worry they won't get pissed off). The att to get it from Canada ammo wil get faxed to them It will be sent to them automatically when the transfer is approved. Your long term att depends a lot on the club. Some clubs wait till they have a certain number before they submit them. I had mine less than 2 weeks after I took the clubs safety course.

Check with CanAm on the status of your transfer.
Check with the ON CFO in Orillia on the state of your transfer.
Asking here is a waste of your time, unless CanAm or the ON CFO see your post and respond. And unless you used your boardname when you ordered, CanAm isn't going to know which order you are talking about.

I've sent a few e-mails to CanAm but have gotten no reply. I've heard they're very busy at the moment.

Hopefully I'll get some sort of update from them this week. However something tells me the only reliable communication I'll be having will be my Visa getting charged and the Postman dropping off a box who knows when.

I really just wanted to get an idea of how long others were waiting for similar transfers.

Thanks

It is frustrating waiting for something, and not knowing what is happening. In my experience, restricted transfers in ON are being done quickly. Last two were same day, left with the gun, these were transfers from a business. Buyer and seller both get a copy of the transfer approval, and both buyer and seller will receive a STATT along with the transfer approval to cover delivery and taking possession of the firearm, valid for 30 days.

Ontario, up to 6 weeks for your first short term ATT. Possible shorter if from a dealer. Use your waiting time to save up for Ammo!

I purchased my first handgun at William's Arms a few weeks back. Didn't have my PAL quite yet (the CFC site said it was in the mail) but they said it was no problem to put a deposit down. I did so on a Saturday, my PAL arrived in the mail on Monday or Tuesday and I called them to give them the info. The next day they had my paperwork in and I drove out to pick it up.
