How long is your trigger squeeze?

Just curious about the amount of time it takes for a good trigger squeeze, if were counting from the moment you apply pressure to the moment the trigger breaks.

Depends on the trigger weight and creep, my rifle is setup for 2 lbs, others have theirs setup for 1/2 lb. With 1/2 lb trigger, it pretty much breaks as soon as you touch it from what I hear. Most quality rifles will have very little, if any, creep

Depends on what you are doing with the firearm. I have my F-class trigger at around 2oz which, without proper trigger control, can be set off before you even know you touched it.

I guess I'm comparing apples to oranges here, I'm shooting with a factory Rem 700 trigger. I'm pretty new to shooting (80 rounds under my belt) I feel my squeeze maybe a little fast, usually under a second or so. I was just curious to see what others are doing.

The trigger break should be a surprise every time it goes off. There is no "proper time" a trigger pull should be.

If the time it takes you to break the shot works, then stick with it.

If you think you are pulling it too fast and pulling your shots, then take a little more time.

With a trigger as light as mine, I pretty much think it to the break point.

Trigger weight is pressure of finger lol.

Only a .22LR but so damn accurate for what it is. (H&R 852)

Fixed 4x on it I use it for precision plinking.

Keep finger outta the trigger guard till your on target then just TICK an BANG perfect shot.

However long it takes for me to aquire the sight picture I'm looking for. This is highly variables in every sense. Benchrest, varmints, moving targets, game animals??? Sometimes it is slow and deliberate and sometimes it is a quick snap. I have triggers from 8oz. to 3lbs and many in between. Cool question but a tough one to come up with a definitive answer.

Do you inhale or exhale or hold your breath as you squeeze? Ask your buddy before he shoots and I guarantee he'll be off a bit.

Savage accu-trigger. No drag, snaps like glass. :D

I find I just start to apply pressure... I look through the scope.... I apply more pressure... I get the cross hairs where I want them and SNAP, the hammer goes unexpectedly. I think my trigger brakes clean at about 4lbs (estimation) with NO creep.

Yeah, the accu-trigger is awesome!

X2 on Cyan1de, I have a 6 PPC and a 6 BR both set up for 2 oz. I don't really have to squeeze i use the force and think it to break. It takes range time to get used to triggers this light. I have to make sure everything is lined up before I go near it.

Different styles of shooting. Let the trigger surprise you off hand when you are being knocked around in the wind, off hand, and I miss by a long ways. In F-class, however, what CyaN1de does sure works for him.

Guess I forgot to mention my trigger being at 3lbs, so yeah, I imagine a rediculously light one is bound to surprise. I remember when I first tried an Accu-Trigger after just using mine - it was indeed unexpected.
