How long till we see wide spread Sustenance hunting ?

Most of this will be about being able to use the coronavirus as an excuse for "sustenance" hunting. The elephant in the room is that those who practice this on a regular basis are already getting extra funding, judged by the local panic buying in grocery stores in my middle of butt f*** nowhere. Those on welfare will get a raise while the rest of us scramble.

Killer caught...……..Family members believe the killing was random and that it seemed nothing was taken from the vehicle, suggesting the pair may have been ambushed after they left Cardinal’s stepson’s home Friday evening. They were found near Township Road 622 and Range Road 84 beside a black 2014 Ram 1500.
RCMP said Tuesday it was too early to determine a motive.
The two, who have Métis hunting rights, spent Friday hunting for food after Sansom was laid off from his job as a heavy-duty mechanic because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anthony Michael Bilodeau, charged with two counts of second-degree murder, was denied bail at a Wednesday hearing. His next appearance is set for April 9 at St. Paul Provincial Court.

He turned himself in. Apparently, two trucks were on the road and there was an altercation. A third truck arrived and shots were fired...

Poke around in the dark in rural Alberta these days and you're putting your life at risk. Tragic, but the rural crime situation has deteriorated to that level. Cops catch people in illegal possession of loaded firearms, with multiple previous charges against them, no fixed address and the courts release them with a promise to appear .

Grizz

It has also crossed my mind that this could very well be a carry-over from the rail blockades of Feb. Haven't heard if the suspect is a rural farmer or not but a lot of farmers in my area haven't hauled a load of grain since December because of the rail disruptions...now,combined with the covid shutdown of everything, and seeding season rapidly coming on, those boys are near the breaking point of frustration and a "snap" could be triggered by the most inconsequential insident.

Meanwhile Japan gets a tsunami that utterly destroys a region and people work together in an orderly and cohesive manner to save each other and move forward. This is a test run for the real thing, call me optimistic but I think we’ll come out of this better not worse.

We are many, they are one.

This is a lesson I learned living in Asia for 3 years... made me question a lot of things I had been indoctrinated with growing up in Canada in the 90s.

Never underestimate places like Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore... they will respond, unite, and work together. They are all playing on the same team. There is a duty and responsibility there to your country and ppl.

We are more divided by every way possible in the west. We cannot bind together, and trust each other like they can. We have dozens of different teams now with different goals... We are a "post national" state apparently... with no common goals, history, religion or language even... it's not sustainable long term and I have actually been waiting for a crisis to help the average sleepy Canadian realize this fact.

There are going to be racially charged comments & articles for a while yet.
Disappointing; but when you give folks different sets of rights based on Real or purported genetics...you are going to see friction.
I agree with K-Roc in that we are at a quite divisive time in our country. I'm not picking a side... IMO both sides in 'any argument' have valid points that need considering.
The Indigenous situation has needed a work-over for quite some time now.

For the record, I think Canada, was doing this all pretty well until maybe the late 1970's, even maybe until the late 1990's to a certain degree.

We have been the most accepting, tolerant, and multi-racial country in the history of planet earth. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. You encourage ppl to unite under nationalism, language, and religion, if not religion then a common cultural creed/ethos... you encourage integration into the common culture, but sure you can keep flavors of your original culture and mix it all up. Then you can get the same result as places like Korea, Japan, Singapore etc... Because then "out of many you are now one". You go a bit slower with immigration into the country to allow this to happen naturally. That seemed to be the idea, it was working until it started to erode slowly in the 1970's and vanished completely 5 years ago when Trudeau was elected and he announced we are a post national state.

If you don't do any of that you just end up with a massively divided and frankly very confused population. Divided on so many levels it's not possible to function as a unit under any sort of stress test. It's never worked in the history of mankind. My hope is that this event is a massive reset and re-think on a lot of Leftist ideas about society and culture.

We don’t need much to survive, a couple of salmon in the freezer, a mule deer cut and wrapped - what worries me the most is the bacon - how the hell can anyone survive without the bacon.......lol

Jokes aside - when things are really going “Tits up” it’s a good time to dig out those old dusty books that our grandparents left us, yep the ones about how they and their parents survived the Great Depression.

Time to get out the masonry jars, fire up the camp chef propane stove , and start canning what ever the hell you can lay your hands on.

It’s Time to start baking your own bread, making your own butter and finding out what natural ingredients there are close by to make medicines and ointments.

The factories are shut down now, stocks are still on the shelf, with everyday passing - those stocks are running out. Instead of panicking, it’s time to relearn those things that grandma and grandpa practiced every day, plus it’s fun if you think about it, what else have you got to keep away the sheer boredom of sitting around doing burger all all day long?

the situation is not unique to Canada and the same is happening to the whole western world in general as we developped the individual spirit and mind but i can tell you that people will be stronger together and we will be in the bad ages we are getting, people will be together and united.

i do not rely on gvt or agencies to tell me what to do and this is where the word us and people will go perfectly.

Guess I've always believed our individuality and self reliance is what makes us a stronger nation. Those people are like sheep, they can be herded wherever the government decides, good or bad.

Could not of said it better myself. Canadians can't even say much of what they think, overly criticized/critiqued, especially in recent years. Canada has lost it's identity, traditions, customs and heritages by the far left and new Canadians. Canadians have let their guard down and now we are paying the price of political correctness. It appears that whenever a Trudeau is in power there is always a crisses, in one form or another.

Many a crisis without a Trudeau in power. I remember the Doomsday Clock while Mulroney was in power and our debt was out of control. Remember the financial crash when Harper was in power. Harper's forte was the politics of division. Selective recall of history is not always a wise path. Political analysis is not everyone's forte and that is very evident on a continual basis. You need to consider all the facts not just the one's that suit your narrative.

This is the hunting forum, can we get back to the OP's original question?

Seems like you had a tough enough time concentrating on the original question....

Harper brought us through a bad financial time when the rest of the world was in chaos...our economy didn’t fare too badly.

Come on now; Style over substance is the name of the game... JT is just so ###y. Zoolander in real life right there.

The irony......

The irony is you missed my question entirely. The Trudeau bashing forums are found elsewhere, there are many of them. Have a ball, could care less.

The irony is, is that you are the one who posted a false Harper bashing post in this thread. The Harper bashing forums are found elsewhere, there are many of them. Have a ball, could care less.

Pot meet kettle.
