how long to transfer a handgun ??

I'm wishing that I would have called! Process started in Ontario on the 1st of Oct, I confirmed on the 2nd, and I have a letter that was dated the 3rd. I could have had my M&P by now!!!!! But I thought it would take a long time. Oh well.
