Just got the new Lyman 1200 tumbler...how long should i leave some brass to tumble on average. This stuff is pretty clean as it is, just curious ...20 minues, 2 days?
Many variables, time, media and additives. A simple answer is
"till it is clean"
my $0.02

+1 for the dillon additive, I tumble till there clean, check them ever hour or so, Cloth baby diapers make excellent dust removers, and there washable.
Edit: Also have a dillon cage basket tub media remover thing, (technical I know, name escapes me at the moment) takes about 3-6 turns and all the medias out of the cases, inside as well, even my 204 with its tiny neck, I open the basket, and wipe down all the shells for dust, and visual inspection.
It will depend on your media and how new it is. For new clean media I just tumble for 1-2 hours since I have a timer on my extension cord. For older media you can tumble 4-6 hours. Some people leave it overnight.
