How long to wait?

Ok, I know this is likely a dumb question but for you guys that are constantly getting 1/2" groups out of your 22 how much time are you waiting between shooting your 5 shot groups? Ive only been really trying for moa groups for a couple months and this is fairly new to me.I know it depends on outside temp and likely more. The reason I ask is I tried again this morning at the 1/2" challenge and got the first 4 groups under 1/2" and missed her again on the 5th. After my 5 shots I walk out the 50yds and measure just to make sure I'm under that magic # and walk back,load the gun and get set up so likely waiting 3 mins or so. Every group opens a little more so I'm pretty sure I'm just not giving enough cool down time. Groups go from 1st .238 up a little every group finishing at .571. I would really appreciate everybody expertise about this. Maybe it's just me getting shakier as time goes by.
 
In my opinion it doesn't matter. All the 22s I've completed the challenge with were shot 25 shots in a row. Didn't even check the targets, I just moved on to the next dot. I don't think a 22 would heat up enough in 25 rounds to affect accuracy very much, if at all.
 
Thanks guys. It is free floated already. I just tried again and was able to pull it off. Didn't think a 22 should heat up enough but wasn't sure. It was close but was able to get all 5 groups under 1/2". Barely with one at .475 but still counts. Lol
