That of course presumes that one agrees with your original premise, which I don't. Bushnell is simply a product on a line of cost and quality and is better than some and worse than others and YMMV and thus your opinion. You sound like you've been burnt and I don't argue with experience however, you're one customer of many.
I've heard walk-ins at their Richmond Hill location sometimes yield good results (ie: insta-service/exchange/outright replace).
I have a Elite 3200 going in but no time pressure as I bought a 4200 to replace it. I'll probably sell the 3200 and buy a taco when it comes back. (yes, thats TACO, not Tasco.... yummmmmmm... tacos....)
