How long will cheap 7.62x39 prices last?

So the price for 7.62x39 seems to be great (like $145/1120rd case)- being near U.S. prices. How long can we expect these prices to continue or is there a foreseeable price increase coming sometime in the near future?

145... where is that? I paid 200 for a case this month.. and the other shops I called were selling it for 250 in my surroundings..

Personally I think the supply is such that the price should remain steady until something changes e.g. drastic like legislation, or something gradual like the AK-47 and all of it's variants disappearing...

Seriously, ammunition is no different than any other commodity. there are many factors that affect the price; from the availability of the raw materials used to manufacture it, right up to the economics of the local dealers. Like the stock market there is NO way to KNOW what the future will hold, but there are many ways to guess with varying degrees of accuracy. The price has been steady for how long? As far as I know it's been ~ the same for at least ~5 years...

There's a ton of it out there, stockpiles for WW-III. Hell, if you look at the american markets, there's still cases of 8x57 and 30-06 WW-II surplus turning up from time to time.

However, the 7.62x39 is being used up at a fantastic rate, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see it all but gone in the next decade or two

Wolverine has that price. Add tax and shipping and you get about what you paid ($200), so you actually did well.

I don't think it will get much cheaper than it is now. Yes, the world supply is high and so is it's use. The supply should be ok in my lifetime.

Hmmmm.....if only I could afford a case a month.....

For surplus the factor is how much Afghan and Iraq are consuming. The US cannot import steel core ammo in X39 so that slows consumption a fair bit.

If can canada ammo had any the 165/case free shipping is a good deal.. I have read a few posts saying they don't have any.. or are unresponsive to emails or something of that notion..
