I'm working on an audio project that requires the simulation of a Vickers .303 mg.
While I have sound clips, I do not know what the actual decibel rating would be during live fire. Does anyone know? Alternately sound level for a .3030 single round?
Call me curious.

John

as a wild guess i would have to say somehwere around 140 db average? maybe? again as the chart shows it really depends on your location in reference to the shooters position....

are you going to try to generate a 140db+ sound from an audio clip????:runaway:

.Ben,
Yes.
I have a deac to go in a military vehicle. I can't fire blanks from the gun. Oxy/propane simulators have all sorts of issues that make them a no-go.

The experiment will be to use car audio gear running sound from a chipped sound clip.

Regards,
John

Don't make the sound as load as real because anyone near and not wearing hearing protection could suffer hearing loss and you would be responsible and maybe liable. It just has to be loud .
