How low can I go?

I want to shoot some reduced loads in my 308 norma Mag. There isn't much info available about this though. Most of the powders listed for this cartridge are slow and many manuals discourage light loads of slow powder as it gives unpredictable results. One powder listed in all manuals I have is H380. Has anyone used this powder for reduced loads in a magnum? Any others? I'm thinking of shooting cast but untill I get the gear I'll settle for some reduced loads behind something like a 155 SMK.

You could try Cast bullets

150g to 200g bullets from 2000 to a low of 1600 fps Think 30-30 with less recoil

And you could still use it to hunt Deer at less than 250 yds with cast

You could also look for youth Loads that have reduced data

I've used SR4759 with good results, used the 300 win mag reduced load info as the two are very close.
