How many 1911s Do You Have?

Down to three, all single-stack five-inchers:

Colt Series 70 9mm Luger frame, with bare bones but best-quality aftermarket everything else, matte chromed; built by Paul Barrette around '93 or '94. He was building 9x25s back then, and he thought I was nuts. Barking. Took my cheque, though.

Colt National Match .45 ACP: mostly stock, but has a Schuemann Classic barrel, custom Dlask short GCNM trigger, Millett rears, S&A funnel, Paul Barrette trigger job... terribly fun pistol for IPSC, even better for NRA gallery.

...and a Pachmayr Signature Model bullseye .45, built on a Colt Series 70. The epitome of 70s California hot-rod weirdness.

I can't stand mil-spec 1911s out of the box, and they don't fit my hands all that well. Tuned up, though, I like them, and I do all right with them.
I can't be troubled to shoot largebore pistol seriously with any other platform.

I thought the Ballester-Molina had a rotating cam lock on the barrel rather than a toggle link? More like the styer 1912?

Except for the pivoting trigger and lack of a grip safety, the Ballester-Molina (BM) is pretty much a 1911. It uses 1911 magazines and you can use a 1911 barrel and bushing. My barrel had to be fitted but I understand others have had them work perfectly. My BM will shoot rings around a lot of more expensive and more highly regarded pistols.

Thanks, nice looking pistol by the way!

I always try to keep one .45 1911 around. Make/model depends on what I'm liking at the time. Currently, it's a Norinco 1911C:

I have four left. I just sold three the past three weeks!
Colt series 70 Gold Cup
Colt series 70 Gove't model customized by Dlask
Colt 1911 USGI
Norinco 1911 9mm

Just two. A very well-used Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, and a Valtro. I have a lot of affection for the Gold Cup, but the Valtro not so much. I mean, it's a good gun and all, but it ain't the Gold Cup.

Just one...

...incase anyone was wondering, the picture is actually a scan. I just put it on the scanner and scanned it :D
