How Many 358 Winchester Fans Have We Got Here??

I have 4, Browning BLR, Savage 99, Winchester 88 and a custom Vangaurd I had built last year. I’m a big fan or the 35 calibers also own a 35 Whelen, a 358 Norma, 35 Winchester and a 358-300 RUM

SS.......is that 35 Win in a mod 95 I assume ? I too have one of these, easy to equal 358 Win ballistics, beautiful and useful old cartridge and doesn't have the restrictions of most 358 magazines.
That 350 RUM is a hellfire breathing dragon, buddy of mine used one for many years (35-404 Imp), biggest problem then was getting good enough bullets for it. 250 Speer HC were varmint bullets when used in that cartridge at 3200 fps.

On point, I have a 358 Win which I bought from Ted (Why Not?) made up on an old wood stocked Mod 7. However I have never shot any game with it and my #2 son has laid claim to it as his favorite rifle. I do have several 35 cal rifles and have used the 350 RM extensively for laying down black bears. As stated earlier it kills them all out of proportion to it's paper ballistics.........I used to sneer at guys using the 350 RM before I traded for one and started using it, I suspect the same applies to the 358 Win.

I've got a savage 99 in .308 that I've been plotting to turn into a 358 win at some point, no experience with the round but it seems handy.

Let my BLR .358win go last year.
Sort of regretting it.
One in a bolt action is on me list.
Maybe YoYo will sniff one out in the gun show coming up.
Lad has a snowt furr finding chit.

Yes a model 95 love the gun. I’m using Nosler Partitions at 3100 FPS in the 35/300, and your right it is hard to find a bullet that will hold up to the velocity.

Wow,.. some of you guys have quite a stash of some really nice 358win, and other 35 caliber rifles,.... I think "hoytcanon" might be the leader so far,... most of you are pretty shy with your pics,..lol

I only have the one 358win right now, BLR PG, but I am always on the look out for a nice Ruger, and/or a nice steel receiver Model 81 in 358win,.. it seems the only time I see one is if I don't have the spare cash to spend,.. maybe some day the stars will align and I'll pick one up.

When my buddy had his, Nosler didn't make a 35 cal bullet and there were very few on the market of any make, let alone premium suited to the kind of velocities he was running. He found a part box of 250 A-frames in a shop in Edm and loaded them up specifically for hunting and carried on using the Speers for fun shooting.

I'm currently saving up for a 2016 Ruger Hawkeye special edition in 358. This will be the final gun to add to my collection. I hope ammo manufacturers get on board and start making this mainstream. Honrady is currently the only ammo available.

I've seen pics of the 2016 Ruger SE 358,.. nice looking rifle,.. I think the wood is French Walnut.

Factory ammo is hard to find,.. 358win is pretty much a handloaders round,.. every once in awhile I do come across some 200gr Hornady,... I found a couple boxes of 200gr Winchester Silvertips a couple years ago but my rifle doesn't group them as good as Hornady or my handloads.

Great little round , have had a dozen of them along with all the 35's
I like to load the 225 Woidleigh RN with enough TAC to push it slightly over 2500Fps. Inside about 225yds flattens bears

If you don't mind me asking, where are you getting your Woodleigh Bullets?,.... I see Trade ex carries them

Lol,.. I guess you're right Dan,.... I keep trying to ware Mike down for his 81, but I don't think I'm making much head way.. lol

Yes,he can be a hard nut to crack.LOL He has that stubborn streak, famous for our area.LOL

Do not believe I have ever had a .35 calibre rifle. Closest I have come is a .348.Might have to fix that over sight one of these days.LOL

This has become my fav my grab and go hunter - a Ruger77 Frontier in 358Win. Took it out west elk and deer hunting last fall. Very handy and it just suits me right down to the ground. I took off the quarter rib and use a compact 1.5-4 power Leupold over the receiver usually. It spits 250s at just over 2200 with its short 16" barrel. I also have a full size Ruger77 Hawkeye Stainless and a Savage "Brush Gun" - both in 358Win - both great hunting rifles also.

LOL ...... I think I used to own that rifle and sold it BACK to Ted after a time. Should have kept it.

While I don't own one right now, have owned 4 or 5 over the years. The best one was a M760 in 35Remington that was rechambered. The Model Seven mentioned above, a custom SS 700 and a couple BLRs. None currently as I have a 35Whelen instead.

Don't have any 35cals yet, but plan to add one soon, just need to get a real job and a few paycheques first...

Already got the dies, $12 from WSS on closing day! Lol

I have my gunsite scout at the smith right now being converted from 308 to 358. Hope to get it back for hunting season this year!

Excited to try a new cal..

That is a handy one, Dave... perfect little carry rifle. My M77 MKII Stainless .358 will have a 22" barrel and match the factory .358 contour. I shoot the Hornady 200 RN's in my Frontier... they are very accurate.
