How many AR-15's in canada?

Hey guys

Just curious as to where I can find information on how many AR's are currently in Canada? I tried to track this down over at the CFC website but that was about as navigable as a David Bowie's Labyrinth. Thanks for your time guys.
 
Gotta be more than that.

Add up all of the stock that retailers have been bringing in over the last ten years, and they're all sold out now. I'd say that very few have been destroyed and almost all of them are still floating around.

So I'm going to guess in the tens of thousands.
 
I agree with 10's of thousands. Likely around 20K is my guess.

That's only 1 for every 1500 people... heck in the people I know it's more like 1 in 10. :)

Maybe I'm WAAAY out to lunch... I have no idea..

I really appreciate this guys I'm trying to figure some things out, sort of a mock buisness plan kind of thing if you will. Not that I plan on producing them as we have ATR doing such a fine job so far. I am interested in the parts and accessories stuff. Do you guys believe there is a large market for that kind of thing in Canada (albeit a small one) and the rest of the world or do you think that it is primarily the United states that is propelling the AR accessories market?
 
What kind of accessories? Try to post a sell add for a larue, adm, or magpul anything, and see how many PMs you get. Build the right part well, and there is a market. Build it poorly, and there is not. AR owners have deep pockets.
 
Not to sure yet as it stands I'm a lowly Industrial Design student trying to find a job designing firearms and firearms accessories. It's all just a bunch of pipe dreams right now, but who knows.
 
I bet it's closer to 50,000 since the ar platform has been so popular for 30 years or so here.

If you were to consider how many "assault rifles" using the typical definition I bet the number is 200,000 or so. Everyone seems to have an sks or cz-858 or ar-15 or xcr, tavor, ar-180b or some other black rifle. Not to mention all the guys that bought ak's, hk-91's etc for years before the bans began.

It makes me smile just thinking about it.
 
Out of 30 million gun owners and the fact that the AR has been widely available there for the past 30 years, I would say more than 2 million. Maybe 2 million have been purchased in the last 5 years or something.. but not total.

In Canada? No way. There aren't that many Lee Enfields.
