How many AR-15's in canada?

When the AR15 went restricted, there had been just over 50,000 imported into Canada. 35,000 were registered. In the 15 years since then I would hazard at least another 10,000 were imported...

I think he meant the US... unless you think all 30 million Canadians are gunowners... :D

It always amazes me how many homes that I go into and find out there are firearms in them, and the number of times I'm asked if firearms are covered by insurance. There are many, many more Canadian firearms owners than are registered.

Not to sure yet as it stands I'm a lowly Industrial Design student trying to find a job designing firearms and firearms accessories. It's all just a bunch of pipe dreams right now, but who knows.

Stay the course on that career path. I can tell you right now, the demand will remain for innovative parts and accessories in particular. I've got a couple of ideas for ARs. Just think how a simple improvement here could make you a very nice living? The opportunities are without boundary and innovation, in my mind, is easy. I have already designed 2 parts for an AR that could change a lot. I look forward to my first prototype.

Ar 15 rifles came in in the 1960's as $200.00 rifles from Colt as non-restricted. Then they became restricted under the Liberal Government. Joe Clark made them non-restricted. This caused a new demand for the Colt Ar15's until they became restricted again. I would think that there are a lot more than 50,000 rifles. The reason there are a lot of un-registered ones is that the original owners couldn't register them because of the way the new law was written!
