How many bullets are here??? Pics

Oh man. I KNEW somebody would ask that LOL!

Ok. I put them on my bathroom scale. It's been know to misread and be completely inaccurate though....especially after Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays :D

42.6 lbs including the 3 plastic bags I put them in, some electrical tape for the bags and the box they're in. Lets knock off half a pound for those.

42.1 lbs multiplied by 7000 grains per pound = 294700 grains.
294700 grains divided by 1650 bullets = 178.6 grains per bullet. That's pretty close to the 180 grains that they're supposed to be. Actually, that's a lot closer than I though it would be :D Add on a gas check and some lube, and they're probably bang on!!!!!

Awe crap. Now you've got me thinking. Ok. I'm going to go and weigh a few and see how close they are on a random sampling of 10. Be right back.

Well, there's another 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back :D

With a gas check tossed in the pan with the bullet:

180.0
181.6
181.7
182.0
181.2
182.0
182.1
182.0
181.6
181.9

Average weight with a gas check = 181.61 grains

Another 10 with no gas check:

177.8
178.0
177.9
176.9
176.9
177.5
177.0
176.8
177.5
177.1

Average weight without a gas check = 177.34 grains

So, another useless bit of information would be, with some reliability, we can say that the gas check I tossed into the pan weighed 4.27 grains.....yipieeee :D

EDIT: Yes, I went back and weighed it. 4.2 was on one side of the line, and 4.3 was on the other on by balance beam scale. Ok. That enough of being neurotic for one night :D LOL!!!

32lbs of .30 cal, 180grn bullets. I should be set.

All of mine are Lee molds and I picked them up at Wholesale Sports. I don't know if there's one near you or not. They do have a mail order desk in Calgary. Here in Edmonton, the inventory is spotty at best, and it's become much worse since it was announced that they were being bought by UFA.
thanks! we have a WSS here, but I can't say I've seen anything in our store. it's a year old now, over a year...and they're still struggling to fill stock in, LOL!
