How many bullets/shots to you keep on hands?

I can certainly "afford" $100 box 300 wm but I can't justify it. Helps to reload but for moose and smaller I have used winchester 180gr power point factory ammo with excellent results. Premium bullets are useful but much of the collective chatter is hype.

For my Zastava rifle anyways, they came out on top as far as accuracy goes. They were pitted against:
Federal with Berger Hunter 185gr
Remington Core-lokt 180gr
Federal Fusion 180gr

Last year's moose agreed that internal damage was deadly lol

Too bad you're so far away. If you were closer i could show you how to reload and you could load some up using my reloading gear.

I just started shooting trap/skeet/sporting clays this year and it's been a struggle to get ammo all year. My goal now that the season's almost over is to have 2 years worth stocked up at the beginning of a season and replenish that at the end of the season. Approximately 5000 rounds of 12 gauge per year. For 9mm the goal is to reload and have 20000 rounds on hand just for IPSC/USPSA and practice for those, and replenish that 500 rounds at a time.

I mostly goose hunt. I buy a box when I spot the stuff I like at CT or cabelas. By the time the season comes, I'm loaded! Not like my bud yesterday. Only 2-3/4 left...lol. They worked anyway cuz the birds were coming in hard!

Just chekin back on this thread and I noticed 'disparaging words' about Herters and I have used their .233 fmj. It was very accurate.
