I'm looking to add a second 243 to my gun safe, but in a very different configuration (BLR lever) to the Tikka T3 243 I currently have. Curious how many have multiple rifles in the same cartridge given it quite possible to set each rifle up for a specific purposed (short range, longer range, etc.)

Nope...... but I get why you do it...... I used to do the same thing, had a .308 dogging rifle, a .308 tree stand rifle and. .308 long range rifle..

Then I started reloading...... now I would never have two the same because I would consider it a lost opportunity to load for something different....

I look at it the other way: an opportunity to have that specialized reload for that sole purpose of that firearm. I have a .308 lightweight, a .308 long range heavy barrel and an M305/M14/M1A platform that each have their specialized reload.

Admittedly, I am not there yet...... but it sure sounds good.....

I suppose I am "kind of there" as I am building loads tailored to rifles..... but I am still sticking to the basics and have only a handful of powders on hand.......

You make a great point though.... and open until a potential excuse to buy more guns... lol

6 22 RF
3 30-30
3 243
2 257 Roberts, and looking for a pump
1 270 and looking for another at the moment

2 years ago I had multiples in other calibers as well but I changed that.
With the 243's specific requirements and loads for each.
30-30's just because it is a good caliber.
22's are just fund to shoot and each is a bit of a practice gun for the rest.
The Roberts that just goes without explanation
