I went to the range today with my 300 and my 270, both wearing Leupold M8 4X scopes.
I had to re-sight the 300 as I'd had the scope off and it was about three inches to the left and four inches high at 100 yards, so I went about one unit down and six over on the dials and tuned it in to about 2 1/2 inches high and centred just like that. There are no "clicks" like on other scopes I have but a smooth moving dial.
My 270 was a bit off too as I had changed loads, but when used the dial on the scope to attempt to move the bullet over, I tried to move one and one half units over to go about 1 1/2 inches over, and the bullet's POI lept about four inches.
I thought one unit on the dial moved the POI about 1/2 an inch.
I should know this by now. I've been shooting that same model of scope for about 10 years.
