How many is too many?

One of my grandkid went to hospital for 21 days after a court order for a mental illness...

I offered my daughter to keep him in my Québec home for recovery ( he trust a lot is grampa)...
Yesterday a SQ lady called me about that judgment and the fact i had many restricteds, i asked her about having restricteds non locked and mag loaded in the same safe...
She told me a real safe in those conditions is perfectly safe, only no no is a loaded firearms even in the safe, they only wanted to verify because of the court order, no need for a visit she told me... JP.

Yes I know, you can never have enough - but realistically how many handguns/restricteds do people have? There is the storage issue which can be solved with a safe, but at what point would the CFO start to wonder. I ask this because I see so many I would like to have, but I don't want to sell anything I currently own. So where do others draw the line?

I buy with the intention of shooting every one in a two month interval.. that usually puts it into perspective

I always wondered this too.....I'm very happy to hear I can continue collecting un abated......thanks

No such thing as too many. Although I did sell off all but 3 of my handguns when I realized possession wasn't the same as using them.

I used to be inspected twice a year when I had a dealer's license. Never before or since. I don't know how many I have.

This is an old picture, but you get the idea.

Two years ago there was a security scare. The OPP called to advise that their intel was that one of the gangs had plans to hit a house "full of guns", so the police were warning owners of large collections. They offered to send a security expert to look at my security and comment. It was a good experience. She suggested more outside lighting. I had a video set up, quality alarms system and a concrete storage room with a steel door.

Until they called a couple months later to say the danger had passed, I added one more level of security.

They only pay attention if you buy a bunch at once. If you buy a bunch over time, it doesn't trigger any warning bells - they won't even notice.

This! I bought 5 different vintage pistols at once and they flagged me. They called me and asked why I bought them, and I told them I wanted them because they were a good deal. They said ok and that was it.

Buy as many as you can afford

Hats off to you sir! If you sell something it must be like finding a needle in a haystack!

This.

I'm at around 10 guns total, but generally if something comes in, something else leaves. A cabinet full of stuff I don't use or I don't have attachment too isn't terribly appealing to me.

What's the point to owning something that you may never use.

Good Lord...

I was once asked by a sweet young thang in a thong at the CFC - "How many guns do you own?" Answer - "I don't really know. You're the one in front of the computer, you tell me." Reply: "If you don't know how many guns you own, how do I know it's you I'm talking to?" Answer: "Can I speak with your supervisor, please?"

That got me in touch with someone from this planet and I completed the transfer.

Yeah, there are other ways to verify you are who you say you are. However, inquiring minds want to know. I'm assuming for you to know she was wearing a thong, you must have seen her physically, and DO YOU HAVE PICS???? :)
