I have to shoot left out of necessity because of poor right eyesight, and there must also be a good number of left handed people out there as well.

I haven't seen any post related especially to us!

I have right hand bolt rifles and left hand bolts. I don't really care which side to be honest because I don't find it difficult to shoot and reload a right hand bolt, but..... when it comes to raised combs and cheek pieces, then I have issues.

I am interested in getting responses from people like me.... anythign you want to chip in about being among the roughly 11% (so I understand) of people who are lefties for one reason or another.

I have..... Husqvarna model 146 9.3 x 62 right hand (re- chambered from 9.3x57, straight stock no problems!, Left hand Savage 16, 243, Left hand Tikka M65 338 Win Mag, Left hand Tikka M695 7mm Rem Mag.

Lefty here, too many rifles to list but not a single right-hand only rifle amongst them.

I own 5 customs and have several more planned for the near future. Sadly, this the only way for us to own anything other than the 4 basic vanilla chamberings. My 5 customs so far are chambered in .338 WM, .250 Savage, 6mm Rem, .35 Whelen and .257 Wby.

I'm in the same boat as you, right handed but have to shoot left because of poor eye sight in my right eye. Since I started shooting 35 years ago all my rifles and shotguns have been right handed until last year I finally bought a Tikka .223 lefty. To tell you the truth, I find operating a left handed bolt a bit on the awkward side now.

I shoot left handed also , left eye dominant. Do everything else right handed,
Grew up shooting Cooey 22 alright handed, pump shotguns, like lever actions , finally got lefty bolt action, 6 or 7 years ago, like lefty bolts now, but can shoot right hand bolts okay though,

me too, first I had a righty remington 700 now a desert tech lefty...

A Browning II Medallion in 280, a Savage custom shop (Hah!!) stainless/plastic in 280, a Win classic in 7mm mag, a custom Ruger Mk II in 7X57, a Win model 100 in 308, a custom Savage 110 in 338 Win, and another Savage in 308. Have shot left handed all my life, guess my Dad started me out that way. Also have a model 94 for good measure. All are LH except the model 100 and the Model 94, and I love 7s.

Lefty also, LH Tikka M695 30-06, Ithaca featherweight 12ga and a RH Ruger 77/22 .22

I found the right hand bolt a little awkward after getting the .22 so I made sure to get a lefty for the meat gun.

The Ithaca is a bottom eject & I fell into it after a family friend passed on.

Glad to see some manufacturers are now making more calibres in LH compared to my choices years ago.

LH Tikka T3, LH Savage 11/111's, LH Ruger Scout rifle, LH Savage MKII GL and Savage 93GL, but also shoot a variety of lever, semi, pump and break rifles and shotguns. I am a Southpaw but can shoot right hand guns left handed and also right handed relatively well, but much more comfortable shooting left. Us southpaws adapt. I am actually ambidextrous in a lot of activities.

I have a Cz 527 and a 452 both in left hand. I find them so much more comfortable. I'm always on the lookout for new left handed guns. Great thread!

I'm left eye dominant, shoot left handed, but right hand dominant all guns are right handed, bought a left handed Browning Abolt for my wife many years ago and I just couldn't get used to the left hand bolt...just felt to clumsy operating the bolt with left hand, like throwing a ball with the wrong hand. When I was young and started shooting and into my teens I shot right handed with my left eye...lol. I can shoot very well both hands which has come in handy on several occasions.

As a lefty, I find most right-hand firearms are no problem. I use a Weatherby SA08 for trap and find that loading shells into the chamber with my right hand while holding gun in my left is completely natural. It came with an ambidextrous cast shim so it was easy to do some crude fitting.

Henry Frontier 22lr lever action is fairly ambidextrous anyway. Semi-auto handguns work great, I shoot IDPA and I find that working the mag release with the tip of my LH trigger finger is completely natural, in fact I wonder how you righties get your thumbs far enough round the grip to press the mag release without disturbing your grip.

Only problem I had was with my Tavor. It took me three months to get a LH bolt so I spent that time shooting it right-handed. Because it's a bull pup it's very uncomfortable to shoot it left-handed because of the ejected brass assaulting the dental work. I even tried shooting it left-handed while wearing a ski mask but this caused consistent FTEs, presumably because my face was impeding the ejection.

Edit: just noticed this is in the hunting arms forum. Apologies if I'm off-topic. Dedicated bolt-action folks please ignore my black and handgun related comments ;)

Mostly right handed, but left eye dominant so I shoot both ways, lh mostly except for handguns which I am better right handed.

Oddly I kick a soccer ball and football left footed but fall on my but if I try right footed. Lol

All my bolts but one are lh.

I find most semi auto rifles to be reasonably lefty friendly, and being able to look straight into the action without rolling the rifle over 90 degrees is a distinct advantage. The only lefty adapted gun I own is my JR Carbine. With no brass knocker it's nice to have it eject left. It takes about 15 minutes to convert to left eject.

I shoot a LH Ruger M77 stainless laminate 25-06, LH west German Westherby Mark V 300 Wthby, LH Weatherby Mark V ultralight weight 300 wthby, lh Sako AV 375 H&H and Lh Benelli SBE2.

I'm a lefty with rifles only, everything else right. I like it as it allows me to say to local dippers and libtards that I'm a lefty as well --- well I shoot left!!!
