How Many Lefties Out There And What Do you Shoot?

LH bolt guns tikka 30-06,tikka 22-250, savage 270wsm.4 lever guns 22lr,357mag,45lc,45-70govt. Browning Maxus with safety changed to lh. OU 12ga for upland. SKS and Mauser 98k for fun. Handguns shoot right handed.

I'm a lefty from birth, have never owned a left handed gun though. I have pump shotguns, over and unders, semi auto rifles and shotguns, levers, and bolt guns. ALl are right handed. Some day I may want a left handed bolt action rifle just to see what it's like.

Surprised there's a lack of people mentioning levers here... I love my Savage 99 in .308, tang safety. Got a Savsge Mark II in left hand, love that thing. I bought an Axis in .223 right handed a couple years ago, and although the thing is a laser, I've got to let it go. Pumps and semi-autos I've never had a problem with, mind you I've never fired a bullpup. I've gotten pretty good at cycling my Mosin, but us lefties are creatures of compromise, so we tend to pick up "wrong handed" motions pretty quickly...

i have one lever action in 300 savage, never thought about it ... shame on me ...

Ambidextrous. Right eye dominant. Prefer LH rifles. Only LH bolt actions I own are a Sako 85 LH Hunter and a CZ452 Lux. Handguns I prefer LH but shoot both.

Left eye dominant, but for everything else I'm a righty.
Being into milsurps I have become accustomed to using right hand bolt guns. I actually have never tried a lefty bolt gun in my life!
Right now I use pump and lever action rifles, but am looking into a Tikka T3 or Browning x-bolt to be my first left handed bolt gun. I see a lot of training time ahead of me to train my left hand.

Left handed-left eye dominant. With everything in the world on the wrong side as a child, I just got used to using both sides in daily life. The only problem with some right hand bolt rifles (or shotguns) is the cast off making me tilt my head awkward. I had a Zastava in 458 Win mag, and sold it and bought a left hand version. The right hand one punched me in the cheek, the left hand one punches me in the shoulder.

From a bench either left or right handed bolt feels normal on the left, as does shooting right hand/right shoulder from the bench. Off hand is a different story.

Pistol feels awkward right handed, but my right hand accuracy is usually decent. My left eye has an astygmatism? so I shoot for the center of the mild blur!

Right handed right eye dominant, but had to switch from shooting right handed to left handed back in my early 20's due to a detached retina in my right eye. I have a number of rifles and shotguns, that are all right handed except for a 54 cal TC side lock. I had a Remington 700 left handed varmint rifle for a short time and hated it. From a rest (or forearm support) it is faster and more convient to use a right handed bolt left handed. Cycling the bolt with your right hand, while keeping the left hand engaged with the pistol grip and trigger works very well for me. I hate push button safeties like on my 10/22 and SA-08, but your kind of stuck with them on certain platforms. On my CZ rimfires while shooting offhand, I am able to hold the rifle left handed and cycle the bolt right handed and still have the rifle remain pointed at the target (from crossed sticks you can shoot very quickly this way). My favourite rifle is my Ruger No1 RSI in 243 which is very ambidextrous. I have really learned to appreciate tang safeties.

Lefties gotta love Brownings, Tikka, Savage, Sako, (Zastava) and a few others that are out there. For some reason i have never been a fan of Remington rifles - but the BDL was ok and the one that Remington made that had a Grey Laminate stock and Stainless barrel that housed the 7mm RUM and the 300 RUM were decent. Most of the the Lefties that are produced by these companies are usually there more standard line of rifles. And many of them are acceptably accurate with a bit of work that is common to many non-custom rifles. Like floating the barrel, adjusting the trigger pull and finding good factory ammo or reloading ammo. And one need not overlook good rings / base and a reliable scope.

I shoot both left and right handed and it makes no difference with my 760/7600 remington pumps. They fit great either way.

Another left eye dominant and usually stuck with ambidextrous stocks. I see so many nice right handed stocks but have to pass. I recently bought my first true LH rifle a 1813L anschutz with a thumbhole stock, very comfortable. I'm still not a big fan of cycling the bolt with my left hand. I much prefer holding the pistol grip in my left and using my RH to operate the bolt.

Lefty, left eye dominant, I shoot a Savage 110LH bolt, a BPS pump, an FNS handgun, all very lefty friendly, but I grew up shooting traditional RH guns, so shooting a righty is not an issue, I just prefer a LH bolt cause I'm a lefty

Born 80% blind in my right eye..... so I shoot left. My first ever gun was a LH bolt so that's what I got used to.... since then I've started to collect odd ball factory chambered LH rifles.... current collection consists of:

Savage 93r 22 wmr
Savage mark II 22lr
CZ 452 2e ZKM "Lux" 22 lr
Savage mark II heavy barrel 17 Mach 2
Savage 110 243 win
Tikka m65 Deluxe 300 win mag
Tikka m595 222 rem
Tikka t3 Hunter 260 rem
Rem 700 sps varmint 17 rem fireball
Browning A Bolt Micro II 22 hornet
Benelli Super Black Eagle 2

All LH bolts/semi autos

I think that's it...... LH 220 swift on the way, looking for a LH 6mm and maybe a LH 20 vartarg too.... as well as a LH 250-3000 sav ai......... I love my LH bolts

I shoot right handed but both of my sons shoot left due to their left eye dominance. One uses a browning BLR in .308 Which is pretty ambidextrous. My youngest uses my CZ 527 7.62 with the right hand bolt. He likes the light gun with low recoil and doesn't care so much about the wrong handed bolt. This fall he hunted using my traditions muzzle loader which is also ambidextrous.
