I got a Nork 1911C a while back and it came with 2 magazines. I just got my NP-28 (Double Stack 9mm) in the mail and I was quite disappointed to find that the box was broken and there was only one mag in it.

I'm going to call Marstar tomorrow but I wanted to find out what you guys got before causing any trouble. I'll be pissed if I have to pay $35+ shipping for another mag!

$hit, never mind.
"All Norinco handguns come with 1 mag except for the Type 54, which has two."
The extra mags are obviously being taken out of the boxes and sold for $35. The second question still stands.

Furthermore.... are the Nork double stack mags proprietary or are there commonly available replacements?

I've held that opinion for several years now....factory 'rinco boxes obviously opened and an empty space where the extra mag sets leads obviously to your conclusion....

MY 1911 commander came with two. One was a parked one that was electro pencilled to match the serial of the pistol, the other was blued and had no marks on it.

I didn't purchase it from marstar though. I also can't say if any other models come with two mags from where I got mine.

I bought a M-93 a while back. Came with one mag and a place for the other. Extra $35.00??? I found out too late there are other dealers that will include both mags for the price (149.00) consequently, they are off my shopping list.

Wow, who are these other dealers? Maybe they'll get the business for my replacement mags.

I was impressed that my second M14 came with 3 mags... but it made me wonder why the first one didn't :mad:

Certain dealers, in order to keep their prices down, will pilfer one of the mags and then sell the gun with only one mag for a slightly lower price.

As the original packaging confirms, the fact is truly that Norinco sends them out with two mags.

Always confirm ahead of time what you are actually going to get for your money. Assume nothing.

I bought my Norc compact from a local dealer here last summer. It came with 2 mags. Interestingly, despite feeling kinda cheap these mags work flawlessly.

Still waiting for the next 'slow boat' to get here & hopefully it will have some NP-29's on it. I don't care if they only come with one mag from the supplier. Other 9mm 1911 mags are easy enough to come by......... ;)

all the fake sig p226' I've seen only came with 1 mag (I forget the model and am too lazy to look it up :) )

6 of them new in box where I took my CFSC were all that way though, 1 mag only

2 Norc Commanders from different sources, both with 2 mags, both mags SN'd to the pistol, 1 Norc M14 (third supplier) 3 mags 2x5 and 1x 20/5.

i've gotten 2 norcs now from that other company in vancouver and they both had 2 mags- an m93 and a tok- the difference in price was roughly equal to one mag, but shipping was a lot less from van-calgary at the time

Thor74 is right. It depends on the dealer you are buying from. Make sure
you get the facts.

It is completely legit business practice to charge for the 2nd mag if the
deal for the gun was advertised as including only one mag. This is irrespective
of whether the gun came new from the factory with two or more magazines.

Caveat emptor.

WALLY;
your mention of "The extra mags are obviously being taken out of the boxes and sold for $35. The second question still stands."

How do you arrive at this conclusioon ?
You are obviously well informed, perhaps you would not mind sharing your "sources" with all here ?
You have copies of our contracts with Norinco to confirm your "conclusion" ?

This very subject has been covered time and time again....

Another well informed individual....
Did it ever occur to you that Norinco make one liner for some boxes to accomodate whatever the customers wants (1 mag, 2 mags, rod, tool, etc )?

The same applies to the newer carry cases, same layout, different contents.

Yes the boxes have been opened;
1) We double check the serial number on the firearm to make certain it matches the one on the box.

2) Since we garantee ALL new firearms leaving our warehouse, don't you think we should verify the functioning of each pistol ?

3) We also inspect the contents of every box to make certain they were not exposed to any humidity which might damage the pistol....

And of course, most important of all, "steal the second mag" so we can stiff our valued customers....

Learn your facts....Before commenting

WALLY;
Your comment; "I was impressed that my second M14 came with 3 mags... but it made me wonder why the first one didn't "

Let me try and explain in simple terms, I really want you to grasp my explanation.

Whatever deal we negotiate with the producer for each contract, that is what we pass on to the customer....

If we get the best deal because we accept most of the pistols with one mag, so be it.... That is how we sell them

If like the last few thousand M-14s we were able to have extra mags included, then that is what we pass on to the client....

THOR;
your comment "Certain dealers, in order to keep their prices down, will pilfer one of the mags and then sell the gun with only one mag for a slightly lower price."

I resent the statement, I won't even bother trying to explain once again....

If you think that we have to pilfer from our stock, you are sick man....

We are the largest single export buyer Norinco has and as such we have been able to maintain some of the best prices with THE BEST WARRANTEE policy available anywhere....

I expect you to fully support your statement, here, with the documentation you used to arrive at this conclusion
