hey there, just being curious...

i have bought an norinco m4 on the august 12 (my own birthday gift  ) but still waiting for the **** transfer to be approved by the gov in quebec  ... still got no convincing reponse by the lady i've called 3 time now

how many of us is in the same boat? it's my first AR and my first restricted rifle but i got some handgun and the longer i've waited is 10 days (open business days...)

so, lets see how many are we?!?

I heard Griffoneur say 6 months before, it kinda sounded like a joke, but not really.

I also seem to remember someone calling the CFC complaining about the transfer time from their provincial CFOs office, seems after a complaint was made, there transfer was pushed through right way.

I can't exactly remember though, it was a little while ago that I read it.

Good luck

Unfortunately for us QuebecR, the 6 months is early by some standards more like 7 to 8. Pistol is another thing altogether, got my pistol Transfer in 3 days ATT in 19 day after that. But for a AR-15 who knows....:(

I've my Reminton R-15 VTR transfered (from P & D) in just only a day. It's my first rifle and restricted firearm though. CFO in Alberta gave me a call asking for more information and it's done within a day. Quebec may have different process?

maybe, the lady at the CFO told me that since dawson evenement, they HAVE to do more control, she also told me that in quebec "we're different"...

I haven't gotten a restricted rifle yet but the longest I waited for a pistol was 2 weeks and the shortest was just under a week. That is here in BC

Ok guys Ive just been trought all of that! Here it is in Quebec:
6 month to wait for the FIRST restricted semi-auto rifle. After buying the first one, you buy another one and it will take the same amount of time than a restricted handgun (1 to 3 weeks).
They (CFC) told me that NOW they have to make a "special" profile of you (for the purchase of para/military assault/sporting semi-auto rifle) and thats why it takes longer (for some reason we are SPECIAL in Quebec). The "special" profile is good for a year. After that its the same routine all over again.
Bought a BRS99....6month for transfer.
Bought a Norc M4(2 month later) 11 days for transfer.

My brother just bought a CX4 and was told, after complaining, that they speeded things up! But becarefull on how and who you complain to...
