how many of us are waiting???

Well sorry for the CGN'ers in PQ. Your CFO sucks. I know that the honest people who are going through the CFC ropes are suffering personal wait times but ... lets consider some facts ... there have been a few well documented (suicidal gunman rampage type) shootings in Quebec starting with Mr. Lapine (who caused all these gun restrictions) and recently with the wanna-be-goth-tard at Dawson college. So any reactionary law aimed at stopping these would have to be aimed at high capacity semi-autos.

I dont recall as many school shootings in the rest of Canada ... so I imagine that the PQ CFO is dealing with an internal issue. Im sure you guys will get your AR's ... but the special 6 month wait is specialty for Quebec alone (for now).

My friends in PQ were always suffering from this crap, detailed 1 year long LTATT's and so many restrictions that its almost not worth it to have a gun...

More people living in Quebec than some other province means more crime (its proportional). Its not because they makes you wait 6 month for a restricted that you wont do something stupid before or after. If somebody want to kill somebody and has to wait 6 month to do it, he will just go to black market or change his ways or use a hunting rifle. We all know that Kimveer Gilltarded (Dawson shooting) would of probably killed more people using a hunting rifle!Thank god they were civilian(Police off duty) carrying a gun who stop that carnage!
Politics in Quebec makes believe that they are doing something about this and that's the biggest crime because they are luring voters (sometime victims family members) into voting for them.As long as it looks like they are doing something....Never heard of Quebec bill#9? Its common sense put on paper that has cost a lot of $$$ for nothing!
We had 2 colleges shootings in 20years. Its very sad indeed. But PM needs to review their laws because it aint helping anybody!:bsFlag:

6 months wait for a Semi-centerfire action. or 10 min for a rimfire pump action. In my book they are both deadly and can do the same damage if not use correctly. This why they we wait for our PAL so they do a background check on us. Then if you ask for a RPAL they do more research on you. Then we you buy a Restrited firearm they call your reference (wife, Mom, dad, Brothers...) After going threw all this they give your gun. dont forget the new Law 9 (je t'aime Charest protecteur de la population du Quebec... are you the one who want to refresh a Nuke central Becancour insted of getting rid of it)

Everytime I tell someone that is not into guns, this procedure they look at me Shock. They Cant belive how complicated it is to get a Gun. They dont understand why there is still Crime commited with guns with this Very restricted procedure to get a firearm.
They also dont understand why I am into Guns with all these laws

It's just another Proof of all liberals think, and how they dont fix problem by making another preblem, for finally never solving the first problem they had.

There is some things in life that you Cannot controls or explain. It's call KARMA and God create it so he could take a break and go out to the range once in a while.

Peace Guys Im going to the Range

Happy Birthday!

hey there, just being curious...

i have bought an norinco m4 on the august 12 (my own birthday gift  ) but still waiting for the **** transfer to be approved by the gov in quebec  ... still got no convincing reponse by the lady i've called 3 time now

how many of us is in the same boat? it's my first AR and my first restricted rifle but i got some handgun and the longer i've waited is 10 days (open business days...)

so, lets see how many are we?!?

Ok guys Ive just been trought all of that! Here it is in Quebec:
6 month to wait for the FIRST restricted semi-auto rifle. After buying the first one, you buy another one and it will take the same amount of time than a restricted handgun (1 to 3 weeks).
They (CFC) told me that NOW they have to make a "special" profile of you (for the purchase of para/military assault/sporting semi-auto rifle) and thats why it takes longer (for some reason we are SPECIAL in Quebec). The "special" profile is good for a year. After that its the same routine all over again.
Bought a BRS99....6month for transfer.
Bought a Norc M4(2 month later) 11 days for transfer.

My brother just bought a CX4 and was told, after complaining, that they speeded things up! But becarefull on how and who you complain to...

man...make sure your papers are in order. How about you ask about the legality of that.

Believe me, ALL my papers are always in order. Problem here is that its very hard to question legality when there is no ombudsman for this specific matter. They make the rules, they apply them.

If you read the Quebec law 9, you will see that they gave themselves all the slack they need to do whatever they want and whenever they want!
Depending on the case, they can modify/change at any moments law 9. They makes it clear that owning a firearm here is a privilege and not a right!

I know people who got theyre first restricted rifle in 3 month. It can go from 3 to 6 month (Ive seen a full year but I suspect a really lazy cfo agent).

Oh yeah, I made a complaint to Quebec ombudsman, they fwd me a list of previously filled complaints...Telling me they are looking into this...bla bla bla!

You'll get it. Don't worry about it. Just remind yourself how good the weather is in the meantime!

Except the weather will be sh*t by the time a lot of us get our firearms... all because we live in either of two provinces being "governed" by idiots leading the dumb.

Hurray.

well, for now let's hope that the M4 is still accurate in winter and that my club organise a white snow shoot....

So they really did speed things up as they said...Good for you (and for us ;).
Makes me wanna buy something...:D

Oh gawd! I feel sorry for QC. :-(

I bought Norc M4 from Epps yesterday. Said it should be good by the end of the week. But call to make sure. I hope it goes smooth... I'll report back. 2nd registricted purchase. First one was from Target Sports (Sig P226). Took only a few days.

As for non-restricted. By the time I paid for my stuff, the transfer was done.

Something tells me one day this will be common across the country. Unless I'm mistaken, more rules being written and none revoked.

Most places have their ammo going for 500$ for a case of 1000. I'm going broke.

That's why the first thing I did was secure a CMMG .22LR conversion kit. There's no way I'm paying .50$/round for plinking...

I'd rather have practically no recoil and be limited to 50-100 yards than go broke. ;-)

Edit: I remember when 223 cost approximately the same as 9mm. What the f*ck happened? It really is a rich man's sport, when you think about it.

Edit 2: I'm calling the CFC tomorrow and if the transfer isn't going through within the next two weeks, I'm canceling and requesting a refund. If it's only arriving in a month or two, and consequently, going to be a safe queen until next summer, I might as well buy a TV/XBOX360/PS3 and order the AR in the Spring.

Then you'll still be stuck waiting again...
