Wondering how many of you have found a firearm ( pistol) that you loved so much, one wasn’t enough.

I’m talking identical. Not a different variation of the same pistol.........exactly the same.

I will soon, but more out of necessity than love for that particular firearm. If you compete in any chosen discipline it doesn’t make sense to spend thousands on travel/hotels/entry fees/ammo and hours of time on permits and paperwork just to have your gun go down at destination. A second gun is cheap insurance.

Interesting, I didn’t even think of that. I was thinking more like a prized 1911....or other. Having a back up for matches makes perfect sense.

Just ordered another Sig STX 1911........man, do I love that thing. It was down to another STX 1911 or S&W Performance Centre 1911 SC.

I just picked up a second 226 for this reason. In my case though the guns will be identical internally, but not externally.

Here’s my twins, Hard chromed Colt Special Combat Government Models in 38 super.

never really though about this.
strangle enough i have a couple pairs, but its due to my dad.
when one of us buys a pistol if the other likes it we usually end up picking one up as well because we dont live near each other.
what has been happening over the years is my dad will flog off pistols he dosnt use to me.... which now that you have brought it up means i have a couple pairs of pistols.

smith and wesson 422/622 (one is silver one is black)
norinco 1911 2-tone x2
herbet schmidt 22 6 shootersx2

so nothing horribly fancy.

when my dad gives up his gun collection and i get it i will have a LOT of doubles now that i think about it.
Ruger 22/45 Lite, Browning Buckmark, Ruger Single 6 (mine is stainless his is blued), Kimber 1911, Sam Tactical Commander, Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm and i think he has a 45 as well so that will be a double, then a bunch of rifles.... 5 that i can think off right off the top of my head and at least 2 shotguns, wait, 3 shotguns.

so ya, i can blame all those doubles on my dad!

Well, it’s nice to see I won’t be the only one :p

I think once I get the new one, I’ll have to start a “ pictures of your twins” thread

I often buy a pair of the same firearm, one that i shoot and one that i keep unfired for later transaction, lately i have sold one SA NM M1A and a SSG3000 unfired and brand new, that i bought in pair 4-5 years ago.
